Utterly devastated of course and all my love goes out to you and the family. Seems like only the other day we were all together - all I see is outpourings of love from the many who admired him
Thinking of you

Yvonne, I want to ring or write but don't even know where you are. What absolutely devastating news, we were stunned to hear about your wonderful talented Neil. Sending love and support wherever you are.
Simmy
I just had to write to say how devastated we are to hear about dear Neil. I don’t think there are any words to write that can fully describe how much we are feeling for you right now but just to let you know we are thinking about you and hoping you’re being comforted by having your family around you.
Love to you and keep strong.
John
I am so dreadfully sorry to have the news about Neil.

We had so many wonderful times together, and it was such a pity that geography meant we saw less of one another in recent years.

Much love
Jan and Eiju
our love and prayers are with you.
Charles
We are all so sad to hear of Neil's untimely passing.

I hope you are bearing up with the family support that I am sure you are getting and the amazing, global, outpouring of tributes - everyone here is devastated too, and many from Bon Coeur and the Christmas lunch have already sent their condolences. He seemed in such great form too so its even more of a shock.

If I / we can do anything at all to help please do let me know.

Very sadly
Paul
Just a note to add to the many you’ll have received mourning Neil’s tragic passing and reaching out to you in case there’s ever anything I can do to help you in the future.
I feel privileged to have been counted amongst your circle of friends and to have had the opportunity to be close to you and Neil.
He was such a special person and I am lucky to have so many wonderful memories to carry with me.
My love and thoughts are with you and your family.
Kerry and Richard
We were so terribly shocked and saddened to hear the news about Neil. It was just a few weeks ago that we had the happy catch up with you both in Hitchin. You must be reeling with it all.

We are flying to Australia this evening for 4 weeks. I’m sure you have plenty of support around you, but if we can be of any help once we get back please let us know. We will be in touch.

Sending you all our love.
Kath and James
We cannot begin to imagine how you must be feeling at this time, but James and I sincerely want to send to you, your children and grandchildren, all our heartfelt love and condolences on losing Neil. He was a shining light and the world will be less fun, truthful, happy and colourful in his absence.

Take care. We will always smile and remember what an exceptional talent and how warm he was towards the folk who adored him and all his works.
Ellen
Absolutely heartbroken to hear about Neil. My heart goes out to you and your family and friends. Neil was a creative and talented soul, and a dear, sweet man. For all of us whose energy overlapped with his, we are the better for it.

I don't expect a reply from you, as I know you have a lot on your plate and must be absolutely devastated. I just wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my thoughts. Nathaniel also asked me to please pass along his sympathies.

With much love,
Ray and Pat
We have recently heard of your sad and sudden loss. Pat & I would like to offer your our sincere condolences, and to tell you that you will be in our thoughts at this sad time. Although I never actually met Neil, I am, of course, familiar with much of his work, and greatly enjoyed his music. I hope to see you at Ukes, but understand if you want to keep a low profile for a while.
Martin
Just heard the news about Neil and just wanted to offer you and your family my sincere condolences.
I have been a big fan and admirer since the Bonzo days, and was fortunate to have a chat with him earlier this year In Bilston during the last Rutles tour.
I have already seen a number of tributes from the world of music and showbiz which show what a talented and greatly loved man he was, as if you didn’t know already!
We will think of you in our prayers at this difficult time.

With kindest regards
Len
Just heard the terrible news, I and Tony are devastated and shocked and our hearts go out to you.

The positive impact Neil had on Tony was amazing and he relentlessly repeated how invigorated he was to be with him and showed what it was to be a professional, a listener, a contributor, and more important made him feel as he was a friend.

Watching and listening to Neil’s entertainment achievements over many years, and listening to Tony and Neil’s last recording I feel I know him well.

The world has lost a great entertaining contributor, we have lost a friend, and you have lost the love of your life – we will not forget Neil and his achievements.

Our hearts are with you.
David
Please accept my sincere condolences and most deepest sympathy at Neil’s passing. He was a wonderful, wonderful person and his loss makes the world a darker and sadder place.

Best wishes,
Karl and Jane
I hope you take strength from all the messages I’m sure you’ll receive. Really thinking of your family (but you most of all) at this time and hope his send off is grand indeed.

Love and best wishes
Anna, Rohan and Rosa
We read the news with shock and deep sadness.
My 20 year old son (just like me at his age) has been watching Neils performances and songs on the net for a few years now . Such a talent and such a lovely chap. I'm so sorry to hear your news. We send our condolences .
Grahame and Sally
We are both so sad to hear of the loss of dear Neil. Sally remembers so clearly saying to Neil that she thought you were both so brave to be moving to France at our time of life! He replied, "look you have to have these adventures, you don't want any regrets". How right he was because we know that you loved your life in France together.
We have many fond memories of our time spent together with you both at Farnham, always a hoot! Neil was a very talented man who was always kind and generous to all, he will be sadly missed.
We send our love and best wishes to you and the family.
Sal
What a real shock Neil’s death must have been to you, I heard it on the news and could barely believe it. He was such a warm generous man. A witty man with always a wonderful take on the world. His composing, his songs and his humour they will live on for ever. He was well loved and well remembered alongside all those special memories that you as a family hold close to your hearts. I am sure his love for you all will endure for a life time.
Much love to all of you.
Arno and Marga
We read the article in The Guardian, posted by Belinda in the facebook group.
Reading the article we are very upset to read that Neil has died. This must be
an enormous shock to you and your children and grandchildren.

We wish you all the strength and courage to deal with this loss.
Sally and Graham
have just heard the most wonderful tribute from Michael Palin on the early news this evening. We are so very sorry, it must have been such a terrible shock for you, so sudden.

We send you and your boys our love and deepest sympathy, at this horrid time.

We have only known you and Neil for a few years in France, but we have had some great times together, he was a great fun character, the most amiable man and excellent company.

Please let us know funeral times or memorial dates.
Our thoughts are with you.
Neil, Andre and Raj, and the Bootlegs.
We are all utterly devastated by the news. I can’t quite believe that only a few days ago Neil and I were exchanging emails. It had been such a wonderful experience working with him and getting to know you both, and we were all really really looking forward to the Spring and taking this fabulous show back on the Road together. He was a gorgeous caring soul with not a trace of ego, and, of course, will be irreplaceable.
Our deepest sincerest condolences to you and the family.
Amber
I’m emailing you sending my condolences and love. I heard about Neil’s passing and I’m so grateful for my signed photo. Sending my love ❤️

I am so sorry to hear about Neil. Thank you for taking the time to write to me - I did hear it from you first, which means a lot to me. I've only had a few minutes to think about it, and it hasn't really hit me yet. I am thinking more about you and your family. You and Neil, such a lovely couple. I just can't imagine. If there is anything at all I can do, please let me know. For now, I'm going to light a candle and let the memories come flooding in.
Elliot and Jane
It's awfully difficult to know where to begin. But I will try...

Neil was truly one of the most special people I've ever had the privilege to know. A shining example of what the human race ought to strive for. His heart of gold, his honesty, integrity, creative spirit, indelible sense of humour, which he used to eloquently describe the state of our crazy world ...I could go on and on. We will miss him more than words can describe.

But as importantly, we feel for you, the boys, and extended family. Please let us know if there is any way we might be of help. We are here for you.
Raj
No idea what to say but I wanted to let you know how devastated I am on hearing of Neil’s passing.

I am in Australia at the moment but the news filtered to us very quickly.

In the few short weeks I spent with you both earlier in the autumn, it was quickly apparent to me how close you both were and I feel for both you and your family.

Neil was very kind to me during those hectic weeks and it was a joy and an honour to have spent some time with him and yourself.

I am so sad that this has happened- it was only a couple of weeks ago that I was saying to the band how much I was looking forward to seeing you both at the next set of shows.

Yvonne, you have much on your mind at the moment so please do not think you need to reply to this email- the least I could do is send you love and condolences.
Jeff
In an email this morning from “The Fest for Beatle Fans” there is a mention of Neil’s passing which came as a shock.
I want to convey my heartfelt condolences and express that wherever Neil is now he will always be with you and with all of us and lives on in our hearts thru his music and film appearances.
Take care and here’s a hug from a fellow Ego Warrior.
Simone
I am so very sorry to hear Neil passed away yesterday.
He was always such a lovely uncle to me, often more like a father figure.
I am very saddened and shocked as it feels he passed away so suddenly and far too soon.
I can only hope that you have lots of support from family and friends during this difficult time.
Tony
just like to say condolences on the passing of Neil. I was a big fan of Rutland Weekend Television as a boy and loved the Beatles parody known as Rutles.
Bought the CD years later and was blown away by the music, as a massive Beatles fan and from Liverpool me and my brother loved it and laughed at it, all in great respect I might add. We saw the Rutles in Liverpool twice, so proud of that, front row at the phil. Years later the Beatles became a Rutles tribute band........Neil Innes we loved you .......
Jacqui
Dearest Yvonne I am really shocked to hear about Neil. You must be devastated losing him so young and so suddenly. I don’t know what to say other than that my thoughts and love are with you and the boys at this terrible time.

I was very sorry to read the news about Neil's passing. His music has meant a lot to me. I discovered him as a kid when my love for Monty Python led me to "All You Need is Cash", and I've often told friends that my favorite Beatles record is "The Rutles".

I was so happy to have seen him play a show in California a few years ago, and to have had the chance to shake his hand and tell him how much I loved his music. I'm also glad that he was finally able to rescue "Nearly Really" from the PledgeMusic debacle. I've played it many times since my copy arrived, and now it's going to be very bittersweet listening to it from now on.

I'm very sorry for your loss, your family's loss, and for all of our loss. He seemed like he was a very sweet and generous man.
Rohan
I have tears in my eyes as I listen to ‘Cats Don’t Like the Rain’ and all - as always Neil speaks for many of us

Fuck.

Love

I found the announcement that Mr. Innes had passed away after my order has been completed. My friend, who saw his concert in Tokyo, gave me this website and online shop and I was excited to find his latest work.
I would like to express my sincere condolences.
Please extend my deepest sympathy to his family and all of people who loves him so dearly.

Dearest Yvonne

I'm so very, very sad to hear about Neil. He was the most beautiful soul I ever worked with. A lovely, lovely human being - the very best. I never had anything but the best of times with him.

Much love to you,
Trish, Benn and Dan
I just cant believe it, so sad.
all love
Jamie
I am just so sad to have heard about Neil on the Radio 4 news this evening. I am so, so sorry for your loss. My goodness it’s such a ghastly thing that the people we love must leave us. Judging by the messages on his Facebook wall Neil was loved and will be missed by the many, many people he has touched. He was just the most special human being. He treated me with such kindness, gentleness and consideration. I don’t think I’ve ever met a more decent and caring man. I loved working with him on that portrait and our interactions since. I’m doubly sorry now that we didn’t manage to meet in France this last October. I last heard from him on Monday gone, sounding very enthusiastic about his new album with the sculpture on it. They don’t make them like him any more.

With my most sincerest condolences and heartfelt wishes,
Andrew
So very sad to hear the passing of Neil
My heart goes out to you and his family.
He will be missed

He was one of my favorite artists
He was very kind to me all the times we met and am forever grateful that allowed me to interview him for my podcast

I cherish my memories of him and will continue to play his CDs and LPs often

Oh my, nobody wants to die but it can hit you right between the eyes
When you're talking about friends at the end of the line
