Disappointed about not seeing the Dali exhibition in Spain – the museum and house closed from 6th January, so instead we went to Antibes to the Picasso exhibition.

Turned out that Picasso had spent just one summer there with Françoise Gilot but there were enough sculptures, paintings and pottery to make it worth going. Antibes has real charm in the winter –lots of interesting streets shops and cafes and an impressive building overlooking the huge and beautiful harbour where the exhibition is housed. Cant imagine it in summer –must be gridlocked in every way. But now it was lovely and we stopped to have lunch in a café – sitting outside without coats and scarves.

Drove back in rush hour so were a little tired by the time we arrived home –flat out in front of TV to see the Charlie Hebdo massacre. Unbelievable – at that time they were still chasing the gunmen and then the news of the supermarket also under siege.
