DSC_0047And on to Lexington to an Aloft hotel which I can thoroughly recommend. Leland Stein found the hotel. Smiles and a welcome as we walked in, nice new rooms, good bed and good food – just sandwiches and salads but really good. Thought we would try and book more of these instead of risking Holiday Inn Expresses, but Alofts are not yet very widespread. We had an hour or two to put our feet up and then we went to the Regent. I had an unexpected déjà vu. When we were last here in 2004, we could not get online, except in Starbucks where we had to sign up for T-mobile. Never any problem now –free internet everywhere. There was a lovely audience at the Regent – very similar to last time -most of whom stayed behind after the show to meet Neil and get things signed. So we were late back but Leland and Dave the sound guy were fabulous. They had hired a Roland D70 which has a voice button so Neil was able to do his favourite encore – “Surly” which is a little ditty for the ladies – hilarious. Everyone wants to know where they can get a copy but it hasn’t been recorded yet. Also met Cha-Chi a radio DJ who had done a lot to promote the gig.
